THE grass doesn’t have a chance of growing under the feet of Bradford’s success story that is the Regal Foods. The company’s manufacturing arm, Yorkshire Baking Company, has seen massive growth since it was established 50 years ago, and it has just branched into e-commerce with a brand-new online website.
Earlier this year, a warehouse expansion at the headquarters in Wallis Street, freed up space in its existing warehouse, thus enabling the extension of the baking subsidiary.
The company is keen to further expand its horizons and bring the true taste of Yorkshire direct to people throughout the UK.
Using authentic recipes to produce tried and tested, freshly-baked Yorkshire favourites, such as Parkin, Tea Loaf, Madeira and many more, the family-run bakery boasts a team of passionate bakers who are serious about the cakes they create.
Just in time for Christmas, they will be offering a range of exclusive, online gift boxes and wicker hampers, filled with their own delicious, home-made products.
Based in the heart of Yorkshire, the company sees baking as not just a means to an end, but an ideology, a way of life, a way of expressing yourself – not by silly marketing or adverts – but with the perfection of the product that is created, and by the cakes that are baked.
The ideology of Yorkshire Baking Company has already been endorsed by several major retailers who stock and promote the famous cake lines, but this new chapter will bring a whole new, online audience to the business.
Arainn Cleland, Sales Director of Yorkshire Baking Company, says: “Our ever popular ‘Yorkshire Baking Company’s range continues to have widespread appeal across our core customer base.
“The launch of our new e-commerce website will enable us to bring lots of our exciting New Product Development to life, creating an exciting range of cakes for all occasions, from that major celebration to a last-minute catch-up with friends.”
A key factor in the success of the business is the belief that cakes taste best when they’ve been freshly baked, using exactly the same ingredients and techniques as traditional recipes.
For this reason Yorkshire Baking Company has state-of-the-art, purpose-built facilities, to ensures that cakes are baked to a consistently high standard.
The dedicated team of resident bakers and cake decorators all share the same ethos of producing a quality product using traditional recipes that go back generations. Customer feedback is regarded as essential to creating the cakes that the nation wants to eat, so there are regular consultations with the customer base.
Last year, the company was voted one of the top-rated cake brands in the UK, alongside other major household names (The Grocer Magazine).
As a result of the online option, it is expected that sales will show healthy growth between now and Christmas.
With their eyes on the horizon, the future for Yorkshire Baking Company looks very bright.
