Public consultation extended on Bradford’s £80 million Transforming Cities Fund proposals

Bradford Council has extended the deadline for public consultation on its flagship Transforming Cities Fund proposals designed to transform the look and feel of the city centre and improve options to travel by public transport, cycling and walking across the district.

The consultation has been extended by two weeks from the original deadline, to now close on Wednesday 22 September 2021, giving the public a further opportunity to have their say on the future of Bradford.

The Transforming Cities Fund sees four major transport-related projects proposed, developed by Bradford Council in conjunction with the West Yorkshire Combined Authority.
Collectively, the projects will facilitate further major regeneration in Bradford, with the aim of benefitting those who visit, work and live in the district.

Councillor Alex Ross-Shaw, Portfolio Holder for Regeneration, Planning & Transport at Bradford Council, said:

“We recognise that it’s been a really busy time for people as we come out of the summer holidays and kids get back to school. We’re really keen to ensure that people of all ages and backgrounds have the opportunity to have their say and so we’re extending the public consultation to ensure everyone has a chance to contribute their views.

“Our proposals represent some of the most ambitious we’ve brought forward for transport in the district and so we would encourage as many people as possible to feedback and help to shape these once-in-a-generation proposals. By consulting with as many members of the public as possible, we will be able to deliver the schemes to their best potential.”

The closing date for the consultation has been moved from the Wednesday 8 September to Wednesday 22 September 2021 and can be accessed via yourvoice.westyorks-ca.gov.uk/bradfordtcf.
