The Bradford Dragon Boat Festival is organised by passionate people from the public, private and the community sectors, as well as budding young leaders in education. It provides a platform for groups, work colleagues, families and friends to raise money (as well as raise the profile of their chosen charity) whilst reaping health benefits that fun, laughter, exercise, competitiveness and social interaction can bring. The Saturday event is the Lord Mayor’s Championship and raises money for the 2018/19 Lord Mayor’s chosen charities which are Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice and Bradford Nightstop (a charity for homeless young people).  The Sunday is the Multi Charity Championship where teams racing can raise money for any approved charity close to their heart. Businesses who do not have a team participating but still want to be part of the event can take advantage of various promotional opportunities that help the festival to support the community and to deliver the event.
