BRADFORD manufacturers are among 19 Yorkshire businesses investing in digital technologies to drive innovation and efficiency.
With support from the Made Smarter Yorkshire programme, the firms are collectively investing nearly £900,000 to modernise operations and boost growth.
Jessica Armitage, programme manager for Made Smarter Yorkshire, said: “It’s fantastic to see manufacturers across West Yorkshire continuing to invest and grow despite the challenges facing the sector.
“These latest projects demonstrate the importance of adopting digital technologies to improve productivity, increase capacity, strengthen competitiveness and future-proof manufacturing operations.”
Bradford-based businesses Powersheds, Debar, and Invent Interior Solutions are among those benefiting from the government-backed support scheme.
They are implementing automation, robotics, data integration, and digital production systems to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
Nicole Owen, head of finance at Powersheds, said the funding has enabled the company to upgrade its timber panel dipping process, improving safety and reducing manual handling.
Ms Owen said: “Made Smarter has been fantastic throughout the process.
