New Business of the Year

Bradford’s new Business Improvement District (BID) is now fully up and running and starting to deliver projects to meet its Business Plan.

Based at their offices on North Parade, the BID team are working on the four “Pillars of Success” – Clean, Safe, Alive and Promoted – which make up the Plan. Each pillar features carefully-defined projects, suggested by local businesses, aimed at ensuring the city centre is a more welcoming place for all who visit.

Bradford BID will operate for five years following a successful ballot in late 2018 when almost 80 per cent of the businesses who took part voted in favour of setting it up. BIDs operate by raising a small levy to pay for additional services to help boost the performance of business within the city centre.

Bradford’s budget will exceed £500,000, meaning £2.5 million will be invested in the city centre over the 5-year term.

No business can operate sustainably in today’s world without a compelling social purpose. PFG’s social purpose is financial inclusion for those who are not well served by mainstream credit products or are excluded altogether. To do this, we provide non-standard credit market customers with appropriate amounts of credit, maintain close contact with them throughout the term of their loan, and work with them sympathetically if they experience difficulties.

Products are designed to meet the needs of our customer base and affordability checks are made to ensure customers can afford the loans and its repayments. We have been providing products to our customer base successfully since 1880.
