Yorkshire Sikh Forum Celebrates Grand Vaisakhi Event at Cedar Court Hotel Bradford

Bradford, 20 May 2026 – Yorkshire Sikh Forum successfully organised a grand Vaisakhi celebration at the Cedar Court Hotel, Bradford, attended by many distinguished dignitaries, community leaders, professionals, and guests from across the region.

The prestigious event welcomed several honoured guests including the Lord Lieutenant, the High Sheriff, six Judges, Councillors, ten Deputy Lieutenants, the Police Chief Constable, Police Superintendent, prominent businessmen, and approximately 200 invited guests.

The evening began with a warm reception led by Dr. Nirmal Singh MBE and his dedicated team, who personally welcomed the VIP guests in a separate reception area before escorting them into the main hall with the vibrant sounds of traditional dhol music. Guests applauded and warmly welcomed the dignitaries as they entered the beautifully decorated venue.

The programme was professionally conducted by Simmy Sekhon, Solicitor and spokesperson for Yorkshire Sikh Forum, who managed the stage proceedings with great confidence and excellence. The event showcased the spirit of Vaisakhi through cultural celebration, unity, and community engagement. Guests also enjoyed lively Bhangra performances, which added great energy and enthusiasm to the evening.

As part of the celebrations, special guests and dignitaries were honoured with eight presentation trophies in recognition of their service and contribution to the community. A raffle draw was also organised, bringing further enjoyment to attendees.

The event also included excellent arrangements for food and refreshments, which were appreciated by all guests.

Dr. Nirmal Singh MBE, Founder and Chairman of Yorkshire Sikh Forum, expressed his gratitude to all guests, dignitaries, sponsors, volunteers, and members for their valuable support in making the event a memorable success.

Special appreciation was also extended to General Secretary Hardev Singh Sidhu, Ajit Singh Lal, Gurdial Singh Johal, and all other members and volunteers who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure the smooth running of the programme.
