Bradford College celebrates T Level Week – and invites public to its restaurant

THIS week is National T Levels Week; a celebration of the many T Level subjects now available. Colleges across the country are showcasing their successes and raising awareness of these new qualifications.

Joining in the activities is Bradford College, now offering 11 T Level and T Level Foundation Year programmes. Equivalent to three A levels, T Level subjects include:

  • Building Services Engineering
  • Civil Engineering
  • Design for Engineering and Manufacturing
  • Digital Production and Design
  • Digital Support Services
  • Education and Childcare
  • Science
  • Health – Supporting the Adult Nursing Team
  • Management and Administration
  • Media, Broadcast and Production
  • Design, Surveying & Planning for Construction

Focusing on career readiness is central to T Level courses, while keeping the flexibility to pursue higher education or advanced technical qualifications later.

Like an apprenticeship, T Levels allow for both industry placement time as well as classroom learning. However, with a T Level you will spend more time in the classroom than an apprenticeship which requires more on-the-job work experience.

T Level qualifications are designed for young people who recently completed GCSEs or are aged 16 to 19. They offer a distinct career pathway, providing students meet specified entry requirements. Most T-Levels need a minimum of five GCSEs (graded from 4-9), including English and maths.

T Levels are two-year full-time programmes and broadly equivalent to three A-Levels. They are a recognised entry qualification by many universities and combine 20per cent practical experience with 80per cent classroom work.

Students who have Level 2 qualifications can embark on a T Level Foundation Year Programme which is a perfect stepping-stone to progressing to a T Level. The programme is a one-year course for students who require additional time and support to build up core skills in English and maths, as well as identifying which T Level course is perfect for their career progression.

Bradford College has secured over £5 million recently for investment into brand new and refurbished teaching facilities for all T Level students starting in September 2024.

Find out more about T Level qualifications at the next Bradford College Level 3 Open Evening on Tuesday, October 17, from 5pm-7pm.
