New Bradford supermarket to give first 100 queuing customers £1k in vouchers

A NEW supermarket in Bradford is set to open its doors next week – with the first 100 customers in the queue receiving £1,000 in vouchers.

Last October, Iceland announced it would be closing down its current branch at Woodhall Retail Park in Thornbury to open a much larger store under its Food Warehouse brand in the vacant unit next door.

The store, which opens on Tuesday, February 11 (8am), is to bring an estimated 14 additional jobs to the local community.

What is The Food Warehouse?

The Food Warehouse was introduced in 2014, with stores often double the size of traditional Iceland stores, offering a much larger range of goods.

The stores are designed to look like a warehouse, with wide shopping aisles and large spaces.

Supermarket sweep-style challenge

Along with the vouchers, a free tray of Ferrero Rocher will be given to the first 200 customers through the checkouts.

Every customer in the queue before 7.30am on the day will be given a raffle ticket which will see them entered into a free prize draw, with five lucky winners given the chance to take part in a supermarket sweep-style challenge.

Each customer will have the entire store to themselves for 90 seconds and will get to fill their trolley with whatever they’d like.

Furthermore, just before the doors to the new store open at 7.50am, additional winners will be drawn for the further 10 prizes on offer; three Tower Panini Presses and seven Tower 4 Litre Air Fryers.

Customers will also be invited to guess how many sweets are in the jar for a chance to win a free Daewoo Double Drawer Air Fryer.

Offers

For one day only, The Food Warehouse in Bradford will also have seven deals available to all customers across the store.

These include a 24 pack Pepsi Max Cans for £7 (was £11.25), 24 pack Velvet Classic Quilted Toilet Tissue for £5 (was £8.50), 210 pack Yorkshire Tea bags for £4 (was £5.45), 18 pack of Carling Original£12 (was £15.75), Walkers Classic Variety Multipack Crisps Box for £3.50 (was £4.85), any 12 pots of Pot Noodles for £8 (was £10), and nine pack of Cadbury’s Multipack Chocolate Bars for £2.00 each (was £2.50).

‘We can’t wait to open our doors’

Kristian Barrett, group retail director at Iceland Foods, said: “We’re very excited to be opening our new store in Bradford, ensuring even more local residents can get their hands on market-leading deals, alongside a brilliant range of frozen, grocery and fresh foods.

“We’re hard at work getting everything set up and ready to go and we can’t wait to open our doors to the local community.”

The Food Warehouse opening hours

The Bradford store will be open Monday to Sunday.

It will be from 8am – 10pm on Monday to Saturday, and 10am – 4pm on Sunday.
