Annual celebration at City Hall was held to ’empower women and young girls’

An event celebrating women in entrepreneurship has taken place at City Hall.

The Igniting Dreams 2025 summit, held on August 8, was aimed at empowering women and young girls with an interest in business start-ups.

The event, organised by SHOFT CIC, featured speeches from high-profile guests, including the King’s representative Dr Manoj Joshi, former Lord Mayor Cllr Bev Mullaney, and current Deputy Lord Mayor Fozia Shaheen.

It also included lectures on artificial intelligence and digital innovation, aligning with the summit’s theme of “Leveraging AI and Digital Platforms to Unlock New Business Potentials”.

A mini market, buzzing with activity, provided a platform for attendees to buy, and sell products.

The event also honoured exceptional women in entrepreneurship, recognising their dedication and contribution to the business world.

It provides a platform for women from diverse backgrounds who can discover how to excel in the business industry.

Nana Hagan said: “Igniting Dreams Business Exhibition is a yearly event, and the brainchild of SHOFT CIC, which seeks to empower women and young girls to build entrepreneurial awareness and skills.

“The event will also be open to women and young ladies with varying experiences in budding ventures who are looking to build stronger business acumen, harness potential local partnerships, and explore new market opportunities.”
