Bingley: Damart and Friends of Myrtle Park’s ongoing partnership

A Bingley-based fashion retailer joined the Friends of Myrtle Park (FOMP) recently to celebrate an ongoing partnership.

Damart has provided almost £10,000 in funding to FOMP so far.

FOMP maintains and nurtures Myrtle Park, which hosts regular music events and a weekly Parkrun.

The funding has gone towards new picnic benches and a hand-painted mural on the remaining wall of the former paddling pool.

An interpretation board detailing the history of this area, known locally as ‘Children’s Corner,’ will complete the project.

At a joint picnic between Damart and FOMP in June, the organisations welcomed 40 guests from the local council and community groups to celebrate their ongoing partnership.

Damart’s charity foundation, On Seniors’ Side, works to encourage seniors to be active to improve their wellbeing.

Kenny Singh, head of people at Damart, said: “The On Seniors’ Side foundation is very important to our business, not just to give back to our local communities but to give our colleagues an opportunity to be involved in initiatives that mean something to them, and that give back to society.

“It is a delight to be supporting FOMP and we look forward to seeing Myrtle Park continue to flourish and thrive.”
