A housing association in Bradford is offering extra support to residents facing fuel poverty.
Incommunities is supporting its tenants through the winter months with warm packs and energy-saving items, including hot water bottles, draught excluders, fuel top-up vouchers, and LED lightbulbs.
The scheme is part of a broader package of help, backed by Incommunities’ Money Matters team, which offers advice on energy tariffs, managing energy debt, and reconnecting gas supplies.
Anna Newton, head of tenancy wellbeing at Incommunities, said: “Winter can be a tough time for many people, especially with rising energy costs.
“We’re encouraging our customers who need support to reach out to us.
“Our support package isn’t just about a one-off handout; it’s about understanding the customer’s specific issues and working with them to get to the bottom of the cause.
“We want to help customers longer term, which is why when our customers come to us, we will have a chat with them about their income and expenditure so that we can provide support that can help them for months and years to come.”
Customers can also be referred to external partners, including Green Doctor, for further assistance.
Incommunities recently announced a £17.5 million investment to improve the energy efficiency of its homes.
