A Bradford-based hygiene specialist is celebrating more than a decade of helping apprentices through a scheme.
Christyens UK has been running its apprenticeship scheme since 2012, as it wished to highlight during National Apprenticeship Week (taking place this week).
Currently, the firm has two apprentices based at its Bradford site: Shay Bates, a data analyst apprentice, and Daniel Woodall, a maintenance and operations engineering technician apprentice.
Shay, who joined in September 2024, is completing a two-year apprenticeship working alongside the IT department while studying for a Level 4 NVQ in data analysis.
Daniel also joined in 2024 and is working alongside the maintenance team on a four-year apprenticeship to achieve a Level 3 NVQ in maintenance and operations engineering.
A spokesperson said: “Throughout the year, Christeyns team members, including apprentices, attend events at schools and colleges to make other young people aware of the opportunities open to them, getting involved in workshops, careers fairs, in-school talks, and CV workshops.”
HR manager Sarah Stringer added: “Our apprenticeship scheme is key for succession planning, identifying and growing talent to fill leadership and business-critical positions in the future.”
According to a spokesperson, Christeyns’ goal is to offer permanent roles to all apprentices who go through the company’s scheme.
