Bradford jobcentre steps up efforts to help young people into work

Jobcentre Plus in Bradford is stepping up efforts to help education leavers gain the skills and confidence they need to enter employment.

Young people are receiving targeted support through practical training, confidence-building, and one-to-one coaching to help them transition from education to the workplace.

Specialist youth employability coaches are also available to provide one-to-one support for those facing extra barriers to work.

Jenifer Ward from Bradford Jobcentre said: “Our dedicated Work Coaches are fully equipped to deliver a wide range of personalised support services tailored specifically for young people.

“From expert guidance on job searching to free training opportunities, CV writing, and help with job applications and interview techniques — we’re here to help every step of the way.”

Jobcentre Plus offers financial help through the Flexible Support Fund, covering expenses such as travel, equipment, or clothing needed for employment or training.

Young people can also access apprenticeships, work experience placements, and job fairs.

Ms Ward added: “We’re working closely with employers to deliver pre-employment training, hosting Jobs Fairs and running Sector-based Work Academy Programmes (SWAPs) in partnership with major organisations such as the NHS and the Civil Service.

“These initiatives are making a real difference and connecting people with meaningful opportunities and building skills for long-term success.”
