Bradford site could be new Northern ‘hub’ for haulage company

A HAULAGE company is eyeing a Bradford site for one of its Northern hubs – new documents have revealed.

L Lynch Plant Hire and Haulage is currently involved in a number of major infrastructure schemes, including the TransPennine Rail Project and the Cumbria A66 bypass.

These projects make “increasing their depots in the north a priority.”

The company has submitted a planning application to Bradford Council to convert an industrial site in Low Moor into a new storage and distribution depot.

The plans are for the former Osbourne Steel Extrusions site on Brighouse Road, and the application says the depot would create 15 full time jobs.

Buildings on the site would be used to store equipment and smaller vehicles, while around 25 larger vehicles including excavators, dozers, loaders, dumpers, sweepers and tractor units would be stored in the open.

The application says: “The site provides an opportunity to be better positioned to provide comprehensive plant hire, haulage, and transport solutions to meet the evolving demands of the northern construction industry and support the economic growth of this region.

“The business will provide vital construction equipment to regional development project which will support wider growth objectives. The proposed use would also be complementary to the surrounding business offerings and would contribute towards employment opportunities within the area.”

A decision is expected next month.
