Bradford’s Freighteam expands fleet following ‘growing demand’

A Bradford-based haulage firm has expanded its vehicle fleet to meet what a spokesperson called “growing demand for its services.”

Freighteam has added two double-deck trailers and two 7.5-tonne vehicles to its fleet.

The company, which is led by husband-and-wife team Richard and Mandy Varley, and which operates depots in Bradford, Dublin, Birmingham, and London, has also installed a canopy above each of its two West Yorkshire warehouses to facilitate loading and unloading.

Mr Varley, who oversees a team of 26 staff, said: “Investing in these extra vehicles means we can move more pallets, and as access to both commercial and residential areas gets tighter, it will be easier for us to transport anything to anywhere.

“Whether it’s trunking, collections, delivery, or home delivery, we’ll have the right vehicle for the job.”

Twenty-one years ago, Freighteam became one of the first shareholder members of Wolverhampton-based logistics network Pallet-Track.

Mr Varley added: “Joining Pallet-Track transformed our business and turned it completely upside down.

“We started out moving 20 pallets a night and now we are pushing 500.

“Business is moving at a faster pace now and it is important we keep up.

“We’re excited to see where the next 20 years take us.”
