Hundreds of Bradford students get first-hand introduction to working life

Hundreds of students in Bradford have been given a first-hand introduction to the world of work.

More than 500 pupils have taken part in Yorkshire Building Society’s Work Immersion Days, designed to raise career aspirations and improve employability.

The scheme targets Year 10 students and above, offering an in-depth look at one of the city’s largest employers.

Susan Allen, chief executive of Yorkshire Building Society, said: “We’re incredibly proud of our heritage, and, as a mutual, making a positive impact in the communities we serve is central to who we are.

“That’s why I am delighted that so many young people have learned more about working life through our Work Immersion Days.”

Held at the society’s headquarters, the sessions include department tours, interactive workshops, and a careers panel.

More than 95 per cent of students said the experience helped them understand what skills employers look for, and 90 per cent said they are more confident working with others.
