A FAMILY-run business in Bradford city centre is embarking on its next chapter in a new location following the closure of the Oastler Shopping Centre.
Northgate Bistro, on Northgate, will relocate to its new location on Rawson Square this weekend.
Owner Emma Fuller said: “It was my mum and dad’s business when it opened 20 years ago.
“They retired and passed it on to me.”
Emma said she started helping her parents, Janet and Joseph Horley, 20 years ago when she was pregnant with her daughter, Aimee Fuller.
Aimee now helps her mum run the bistro along with Emma’s partner, Jamie Telford.
Emma said: “We’re on the outskirts of Oastler market, but we have to be out of here by the end of August.
“We’ll be moving things out after we close at 4pm this Saturday, which is our last day at Northgate. It’ll be a busy weekend.”
When asked about her thoughts on leaving the spot after 20 years, Emma said: “It’s sad really. I’d stay here forever if I could. We’ve always had good trade.
“But unfortunately, we can’t stay because they’ll be knocking this building down.”
Emma said: “We wanted to stay close by, so we’ve literally moved around the corner.”
The business is moving to 11-12 Rawson Square, where Emma will be leasing the ground floor of the building. It will be called The Silver Fox Bar and Bistro.
Although the location has changed, Emma said the business will continue doing what it does best.
“We’ll still be serving what we have always served,” she said.
“We serve full English breakfasts from 8am and all of our food is home-cooked, including our roast beef and roast chicken dinners, chili, shepherd’s pies, and traditional steak and pork pies.
“Most of our customers, many of whom are old-age pensioners and families, come here every day.”
A message from Northgate Bistro on Facebook said: “Saturday, August 23, will be the last day at the Northgate Bistro.
“The Silver Fox Bar and Bistro will be the new premises from Monday, August 25. It’s situated at Rawson Square side of Paul James Jewellers.
“Thank you for every customer we’ve had over the last 19 years.
“The bistro wouldn’t be what it is without your loyal custom.
“Hope to see you all at the premises. Everybody welcome.”
