More than 100 former Pennine Radio staff have gathered to mark the station’s 50th anniversary in Bradford.
The reunion took place at Bingley’s Mercure Bankfield Hotel, celebrating half a century since the station, later known as The Pulse, first broadcast on September 16, 1975.
Attendees travelled from as far as the USA and Australia, and from across the UK.
Four guests at the event were present on the station’s first day of broadcasting.
The radio station, for most of its existence, was based in the basement of Pennine House at Forster Square, Bradford.
The station’s original name, Pennine Radio, lasted for 16 years before being rebranded as The Pulse in 1991.
Bauer Media Audio, the current owners, dropped the name in 2024 as part of a nationwide restructuring.
Local news bulletins and advertisements for West Yorkshire are now all that remains on the frequencies.
Organisers expressed delight at reconnecting generations of radio professionals.
