MORRISONS is “inviting” staff at one of its Bradford stores to register for redundancy.
The Bradford-based supermarket chain confirmed with the Telegraph & Argus this afternoon that it has asked those who are paid hourly at its Mayo Avenue store to “register their interest for voluntary redundancy” if they wish to.
A spokesperson for the company cited the reason for the move is so there are enough staff “in the right place at the right time”.
The full statement said: “We have invited our hourly paid colleagues in our Mayo Avenue store to register their interest for voluntary redundancy.
“We’d like to reiterate this is entirely voluntary and no colleagues are being placed at risk of redundancy.
“As we look to improve the service we offer our customers it’s important our stores have enough colleagues in the right place at the right time and in an effort to improve this we have opened up this voluntary redundancy programme.”
