New commercial building in Farsley to be completed around Christmas

A new commercial building at Springfield Mills, in Farsley, is due to be finished around Christmas.

The Bostock Building will offer eight high-quality warehouse and office units.

The building is named in honour of Horsforth-born John Bostock, the late chairman of Gaunts Ltd, who played a key role in transforming the company from a textile business into a thriving commercial property enterprise.

Chris Pratt, who succeeded Mr Bostock as managing director in 2012 and now serves as a non-executive director overseeing the new development, said: “It was John’s vision and tenacity, which is largely responsible for the vibrant commercial community of people and businesses that occupy this great textile mill today.”

Mr Bostock’s daughter, Ginny Lowndes, who remains a member of the board, added: “We are touched and delighted as a family that the company has decided to name the new development after my father.

“I am still a member of the Board so I am personally also very proud that his name will continue through this exciting new venture as his legacy for all the brilliant work he did for the business, for the local community and for the people he looked after.”

The Bostock Building is the first new structure on the site in 50 years.
