A RESTAURANT is celebrating being named in the top 100 across Britain.

Brook’s Restaurant, on Bradford Road in Brighouse, was selected as one of The Good Food Guide’s Britain’s 100 Best Local Restaurants 2023 – a benchmark for brilliance in the industry for the last 70 years.

Brook’s offers a range of sharing plates that focus on modern British food, taking inspiration from countries around the world.

“We were gobsmacked when we heard the news,” said Greg Foggo, who runs the restaurant with partner Lauren Midgley.

“It was beyond what we expected. It is really nice to be recognised. Good to get a pat on the back.

“It is down to all the hard work everyone puts in. Combine this with good customer service and you have the perfect formula.

“We don’t have a massive marketing scheme, a lot of is down to word of mouth.”

The restaurant originally opened on the site in the eighties and the couple took it on four years ago.

“It has been an uphill battle at times,” Mr Foggo added.

“We were flooded then Covid hit followed by the energy crisis, which was the worst of the three.

“We have just had to balance the costs out.”
