BRADFORD’S leading business representative body has a new figure at the helm.
Tech specialist Mark Cowgill is to take on the role of president at Bradford Chamber of Commerce.
Succeeding outgoing President, Victoria Wainwright, Mark will now be the business organisation’s leading figurehead for the next two years.
The Chamber supports and represents businesses locally, regionally and nationally, and lobbies for changes to improve the local business environment.
Mr Cowgill said: “It’s an exciting time in to be in Bradford, with new developments, regeneration and UK City Of Culture less than 18 months away.
“There’s a great deal of untapped potential here so, despite ongoing economic challenges and national and international political uncertainty, through working closely with businesses and other stakeholders, we can effect change and make things happen.
“It’s still a great time to be in business, and I’m looking forward to getting stuck in!”
Mr Cowgill already has a number of other non-executive roles, including Deputy Chair of Bradford Business Improvement District.
