Tesco shop in Bradford spreading festive cheer with toy donation drive

Tesco customers in Bradford can give new toys to children in need this Christmas.

The local Tesco Extra store is taking part in a nationwide scheme to collect new, unwrapped toys for children spending the festive season in hospital.

The donations will be given to young patients at the children’s ward at Bradford Royal Infirmary.

Sameera Iqbal, community champion at Bradford Extra, said: “We are really excited to support the Children’s Ward at Bradford Royal Infirmary, and we can’t wait to meet Baggins the Bear, who’ll be supporting the gift-giving event at the hospital.”

Donations can be made at the Bradford Extra Tesco store until December 15.

Customers can drop off new, unwrapped toys purchased in-store at the designated donation point.

The scheme is part of a wider campaign involving more than 800 Tesco stores across the UK.

Last year, Tesco customers donated 125,000 toys through the scheme – which the retailer hopes to surpass this Christmas.
