‘We are truly honoured’ – Bradford restaurant wins national award

A BRADFORD eatery was named Best Restaurant of the Year at a national awards ceremony.

International, a cornerstone of traditional Pakistani and Indian cuisine in the city for nearly five decades, secured the gong at the Curry Life Awards 2025.

The flagship eatery, which opened on Sticker Lane in December 2022, is the sister restaurant to the long-established International in Morley Street in the city centre.

Judges said the top award win was “a testament to owner Safeer Khan, who proudly carries on the family’s culinary tradition”.

They added: “The restaurant’s success is a direct result of its unwavering commitment to authentic, zesty and spicy Pakistani and Indian flavours, a menu that preserves culinary expertise across a vast range of curries and Desi dishes, and its strategic expansion to a 300-seat location to serve a wider community.”

Owner Mr Khan told of his pride at receiving the award.

“We are truly honoured,” he said.

“This recognition inspires us to keep innovating and delivering the best for our customers, and it’s a proud moment for our whole team and the rich history of International Restaurant.”

He added that the award “validates the team’s hard work and dedication to the brand”.

This year’s Curry Life Awards ceremony was held in London on Sunday.

After the event, Curry Life Media Group Editor, Syed Belal Ahmed, said: “The UK’s curry industry features some of the country’s most innovative entrepreneurs and restaurateurs.

“All of them have inspiring stories to tell, and they must be given the necessary support to grow and thrive.”
