Wool industry leaders from Canada are set to visit West Yorkshire this week.
The five-day “trade mission” involves visits to historical mills in the region.
Led by The Campaign for Wool Canada, alongside the Canadian Wool Council, delegates will take a tour around Laxton’s Yarns and AW Hainsworth mill on Thursday, September 25.
AW Hainsworth mill are the makers of the HBC blankets.
In a nod to the international aspect of the visit, on Wednesday, September 24, at Mills Fabrica in London, there is a welcome tea with leaders from the UK wool industry.
After attending the Yorkshire industry dinner hosted by The Campaign for Wool on the 25th, delegates will be in Leeds.
They will be visiting luxury cloth maker, William Halstead, and going on a tour of one of the world’s largest wool scouring plants.
The visit finally rounds off at the London Sheep Drive and Livery Fair.
Organised by The Campaign for Wool Canada alongside the Canadian Wool Council, the trip will see a delegation of wool industry professionals depart from points across Canada, with the program kicking off in London and exploring contemporary opportunities.BusinessEventsIndustryLeisure
