A community centre in Bradford has been given a new lease of life.
Lower Grange Community Centre was given a makeover by a group of volunteers from Yorkshire Building Society.
The volunteers enhanced the outdoor space, renovated the front of the building, and painted the exterior and parking area.
The community centre is dedicated to enhancing local wellbeing and offers a range of programmes including education and skills training, youth and older adult engagement, and community involvement initiatives.
The centre encourages residents to propose ideas for community improvement and provides volunteer opportunities with mentoring support.
Projects include language courses, sewing workshops, refugee support events, playgroups, fitness sessions, and environmental action days.
Rachel Crook, a volunteer from Yorkshire Building Society, said: “We’re so pleased to be able to support the charity by helping to transform the building’s exterior as part of the Society’s support for Bradford 2025 UK City of Culture, and hope our hard work will have a positive effect on everyone who uses the centre.”
In addition to the makeover, the centre has received a £101,000 grant from Yorkshire Building Society Charitable Foundation’s Building Bradford Skills Fund, to be used over the next three years.
