Your chance to comment on goods vehicle licence applications

AN APPLICATION to run goods vehicles from a former dyeworks has been received by Bradford Council.

Hookstone Developments Ltd (Trading as Hookstone Group Ltd) Unit 1, Junction Mills, Tong Road, Leeds, LS12 4NQ is applying for a licence to use EFR Skips, The Old Dyeworks, Birkshall Lane, Bradford, BD4 8TB, as an operating centre for four goods vehicles.

Owners or occupiers of the land, including buildings, near the centre, who believe that their use or enjoyment of that land would be affected, should write to the Traffic Commissioner at Hillcrest House, 386 Harehills Lane, Leeds LS9 6NF, stating their reasons, by Friday August 11. They must at the same time send a copy of their representations to the applicant at their address. A guide to making representations is available from the Traffic Commissioner’s Office.

Meanwhile, British Telecommunications Plc, 1 Braham Street, London, E1 8EE is applying to change an existing licence. The company has applied to keep an extra four goods vehicles at BT Regional Training Centre, 40 Legrams Lane, Bradford, West Yorkshire, BD7 1ND. To comment, write to the Traffic Commissioner at the above address stating your reasons, by Monday August 7. You must at the same time send a copy to the applicant.

An application has been received by Bradford Council to sell alcohol and provide late-night entertainment at a new bar in North Parade.

Laura Wigglesworth and Jamie Hill have applied for a licence to use The Brass Owl, 27 North Parade, Bradford, BD1 3JL for the sale of alcohol, provision of regulated entertainment and late-night refreshment between 8am to 12.30am Monday to Thursday and Sunday, and between 8am and 1.30am on Friday and Saturday.

Representations should be made in writing to Licensing Team, Shearbridge Depot Shearbridge Road Bradford BD7 1PU by Thursday August 10. Anyone wishing to inspect the Licensing Register may do so at the above address between 9am and 5pm Monday to Thursday and 9am t0 4.30pm Friday. It is an offence to knowingly or recklessly make a false statement.

Road closures over the coming days include a section of Mortimer Avenue in Fagley which is shut from its junction with Gain Lane to its junction with Newlands Avenue due to telecommunications work. Pedestrian access is maintained.

Alternative routes for traffic affected are via Mortimer Avenue (the unaffected section), Newlands Avenue, Gain Lane and vice versa. The road will reopen at 6pm on Friday.
