New ‘high-quality’ roadside service station set to open later this year

DEVELOPERS behind a new “high-quality” roadside service station in say it is due to open later this year.

The Dewsbury-based Brookfield Group says the “top-tier” Gargrave Services, next to the A65/A59 roundabout, will support the “local community, commuters and tourists alike” with its planned opening “early this year”.

Listed on its website as “coming soon”, the fuel filling station, with access off Gargrave Road, will have everything “today’s motorists expect from a top-tier roadside stop”.

It will have ultra-rapid EV charging bays, a convenience store with “food to go” and “full vehicle valeting services”, said the family-owned company.

It’s website continues: “Whether you’re heading into the Dales, commuting across Yorkshire, or just passing through, Gargrave Services in Skipton offers a smart, sustainable, and convenient place to stop.”

The service station was refused by Craven District Council in October 2022, and overturned on appeal to the planning inspectorate in August 2023.

The Brookfield Group says it is constantly on the lookout for new sites and opportunities to expand its portfolio of roadside services.

One of its projects is at the Figham roundabout in Beverley, East Yorkshire.
