Bradford company helps to bring festive cheer to elderly to combat loneliness

BRADFORD law firm Gordons has donated 70 festive hampers to Age UK to support local elderly people over the Christmas period.

The hampers contain a combination of festive food and drink, as well as small gifts to give people a boost over Christmas in what can be a very lonely time for many.

The donation follows Gordons donating its staff Christmas party budget to the Trussell Trust to support local food banks.

Chris Alexander, from the local Age UK branch, said: “The generosity of everyone at Gordons will be a huge boost to a number of older people in the district who count on our support.

“After such a tough year for the charity and the people we assist, we’re very pleased to have been able to count on Gordons’ support.”

Gordons solicitor Rebecca D’Arcy added: “We wanted to spread some festive cheer because this year has been so hard for many. Older people may spend long periods feeling lonely and isolated, so we hope our hampers put smiles on people’s faces at Christmas.”
