Bradford Council offers over £1million for CAZ upgrades

Bradford Council has launched the Clean Air Heavy Duty Vehicle (HDV) Grant Programme, offering over £1million to help local companies and charities upgrade their vehicles to meet Clean Air Zone (CAZ) standards.

Applications are open for Bradford district-based businesses (up to small/medium-sized enterprises) for up to £16,000 towards the replacement or retrofit upgrade of a Heavy Duty Vehicle (HGVs and Coaches) which is not compliant with the Bradford CAZ standard.

Funds for the HDV programme are extremely limited, so applications will be assessed on a first come, first served basis.

Only one vehicle is allowed per application, but if people wish to apply for more than one, they can submit multiple applications.

Cllr Sarah Ferriby, Bradford Council’s Executive Member for Healthy People and Places, said: “We are pleased to extend our support to Bradford businesses for the upgrade of their non-compliant vehicles by offering up to £16,000 per vehicle in grant funding for HGVs or coaches.”

In addition to this new HDV grant funding, other grant programmes remain open for LGV, minibuses and private hire vehicles.
