Bradford is leading a nationwide surge in demand for decorating services.
According to new data from Gumtree, the city has seen a 271 per cent rise in decorating demand as part of a seasonal boom.
The trend reflects growing demand across the UK as households take action on postponed jobs with the arrival of warmer weather.
Sahil Lamba, services expert at Gumtree, said: “Booking a tradesperson has often felt like a leap of faith, especially during peak periods.
“With demand building earlier this year, those who leave it too late may struggle to secure availability.
“Planning ahead is key.

“We’ve focused on making the process quicker, clearer, and more transparent, so people can hire with confidence even as competition increases.”
Demand is also high in other cities, with Birmingham seeing a 221 per cent rise in decorating demand and both Birmingham and Leeds reporting a 200 per cent increase in handyman requests.
