GET HAGGLING: First ever theme for Bradford's online street market

SMALL businesses are inviting the public to visit Bradford’s online street market when it comes to buying Father’s Day gifts.

The Father’s Day Special will take place on June 11 by visiting the Bradford Street Market Facebook page.

Catherine Simes, Bradford Street Market founder, said, “Whatever you’re looking for, you’ll find it at the Bradford Street Market. We have some of Bradford’s best independent makers, artists and producers with everything from hand-made cards, food and drink, plants, records, beer, comics, customized prints, jewellery, clothing and paintings – you’ll find something for even the most discerning dad.

“Many of our stallholders are happy to do requests or commissions too, so please get in touch with them and ask any questions on Thursday.”

The Bradford Street Market was created as a ‘proper market-day’ and community event.

The online Bradford Street Market was launched in April by Catherine Simes, otherwise known as You Can Take the Girl Out of Bradford and Ursula Sutcliffe, owner of the Plant One on Me Yorkshire plant shop in response to the coronavirus lockdown.

Now in its 9th week, the market has gone from strength to strength over the past two months, with almost 200 stallholders now having taken part and 4,000 shoppers regularly browsing the stalls each week.

‘Doors’ open at 9am. Independent retailers, makers and artists are invited to contact the Bradford Street Market if they would like to participate.
