‘Things off to great start’ for ticket sales for Bradford Live shows, operator says

BOSSES at Trafalgar Entertainment say “things are off to a great start” in terms of ticket sales for the first shows announced at Bradford Live.

Bill Bailey, Diversity, Lord of the Dance by Michael Flatley, Rob Brydon and his Fabulous Band, New Model Army, and Jo Whiley’s 90s anthems were among the initial acts announced for Bradford Live by Trafalgar Entertainment at the start of this month.

The Telegraph & Argus asked Trafalgar Entertainment how ticket sales were going so far.

A spokesperson for Trafalgar Entertainment said: “We’re very pleased with the opening weekend of sales for Bradford Live with tickets sold across all the shows on sale.

“Things are off to a great start and the early signs are encouraging that customers will love the venue as much as we do.”

The spokesperson said tickets for Diversity, Lord of the Dance, and the Varna Ballets went on sale on May 9, while tickets for family favourite Bluey will go on sale on May 16.

“Further show updates will follow over the coming weeks so make sure you are signed up to the Bradford Live database to be the first to hear the latest announcements,” they added.

The T&A also asked Trafalgar Entertainment how recruitment to the several roles so far announced for Bradford Live was progressing.

The Trafalgar Entertainment spokesperson said: “Recruitment wise, we are pleased to be able to start making job offers with some roles commencing soon.

“We’ve received a high standard of applications from people who have a wealth of knowledge and experience, all of which would be of huge benefit to Bradford Live.

“We will be posting more jobs over the coming months including front of house roles.”

Trafalgar Entertainment was revealed as the new operator of the £50.5 million, 3,800-capacity venue in mid-February.

Ahead of the official opening by Trafalgar Entertainment later this year, Bradford Live will be used to hold events as part of City of Culture.

It emerged earlier this year that Trafalgar Entertainment will run Bradford Live – which is owned by Bradford Council – on a 25-year contract.

Last month, the Council said it expects to receive total income of “up to around £17 million” from Bradford Live over the 25-year period through rent and a share of profits.

The authority also claimed that the venue would boost the local economy by £580m over the contract lifetime.
