Developer Tungsten Properties is behind the warehousing facility, which is due to be completed later this summer.

The site itself was part of former North Bierley wastewater treatment works, near Cleckheaton, which was sold off for development in 2019.

Tungsten then purchased a 10.4-acre section of the site from Opus North for just over £7m two years ago.

A spokesman for the firm said that works began in site in October last year, and that the steel frame would be completed shortly.

The warehouse itself is scheduled for completed in July this year.

They added that they have had “good interest” in the development to date and have “serious discussions ongoing” regarding an occupier.

“Tungsten Properties is excited to see great progress on our site known as ‘Super B’ in Cleckheaton with the steel frame due for completion in the next few weeks.

“Our contractor Winvic has done a fantastic job so far in keeping everything on track despite some bad weather we have all experienced.

“We have seen good levels of interest from occupiers, and we are undertaking early viewings on the building at present.”

Opus North has already completed work to create an access road to the site, and is progressing its own plans for industrial units for the manufacturing and logistics park, which is named Interchange 26.

Last month it was announced that the firm behind Interchange 26 has struck a deal for up to 213,000 sq ft of new industrial units on the key site at the intersection of M606 and M62.

Consent has recently been granted by Kirklees Council for a 64,500 sq ft unit and a 43,500 sq ft unit on the site. A further planning application is under consideration for up to 105,000 sq ft.

Work from this developer is expected to start on site in early 2022 with the two units with permission in place set to be completed late this summer.
