Two names new to the Bradford food scene to open in The Broadway

TWO names new to the Bradford food scene are to open in The Broadway.

There have been two free spaces in the shopping centre’s food hall since Taco Bell – one of the first retailers at The Broadway – closed earlier this summer.

The Broadway has announced two new food businesses will be opening in the city centre outlet in the coming weeks to “spice up” its offering, one of which will be in the shopping centre’s food hall.

BOO is due to open in the former Taco Bell unit – which has been empty since earlier this summer– while Jamaica Blue is set to open in the unit between New Look and Accessorize, near the centre’s Market Street entrance.

Jamaica Blue, which has 23 other locations and is known for its premium coffee and fresh, contemporary café menu, will bring a relaxed yet stylish dining experience to shoppers and visitors.

With a name inspired by the famous Blue Mountains of Jamaica, the brand is celebrated for its high-quality beans and wholesome dishes made with locally sourced ingredients.

Michael Johnson, franchise development executive at Foodco UK, said: “Bringing Jamaica Blue to The Broadway shopping centre in Bradford is an exciting step for us.

“Bradford is a vibrant and growing town with a strong local identity, making it an ideal location for our café experience.

“With franchisee Bilal Haidar and a dedicated team behind him, we’re confident Jamaica Blue will quickly become a favourite spot for locals.”

BOO, which was founded in 2017 and boasts a store in Abu Dhabi, brings its smash-burger craft, simple menu and quick, welcoming service to The Broadway.

Customers can expect made-to-order burgers, loaded fries and thick shakes – all fully Halal and HMC certified – with eat-in, takeaway and delivery available.

Adil Ismail, of BOO at The Broadway, said: “Launching our new-look BOO at The Broadway is a big moment – bold design, burgers built different, and the iconic flavours we’ve crafted since ’17.

“Bradford is a city of heritage and heart, now shining as the UK City of Culture 2025 – we’re proud to be part of it.

“We can’t wait to welcome you at The Broadway.”

Ian Ward, general manager at The Broadway, said: “While exact opening dates are still to be confirmed, works are expected to begin within the next two weeks, marking the start of an exciting new chapter for The Broadway’s food offering.”

Taco Bell closed in line with the end of its lease and The Broadway said in June that a new retailer would be announced for the unit in the “coming weeks”.

The Broadway opened in November 2015.
