Bradford housing association highly commended at national awards

A housing association which manages more than 1,400 homes in Bradford and Keighley has been praised at a national awards ceremony.

Manningham Housing Association (MHA) was recognised at the Housing Executive Awards, with judges describing the organisation as highly commended for its achievements.

The judges said: “Manningham Housing Association stood out among the other strong finalists for its digital innovation and community involvement, earning Highly Commended recognition.”

MHA was a finalist in three categories, including Housing Association of the Year.

Its £4.3 million Odette’s Point development in Keighley was shortlisted for Best Affordable Housing Development, and head of corporate services Carolina Padovezi de Oliveira was nominated for the Women in Social Housing Award.

Earlier this year, MHA was named Landlord of the Year at the Northern Housing Awards in Manchester, and customer panel member Tausif Mohammed won Tenant of the Year.

Lee Bloomfield, chief executive of MHA, said: “For a small community-based organisation, we have developed a reputation for excellence on a national level.

“To be spoken about in such positive terms by the Housing Executive Awards judges is another moment of which everyone at MHA should feel rightly proud.

“I am privileged to be surrounded by such an impressive team at every level.”
