ALEX James, bassist for legendary Britpop band Blur, is launching his award-winning Blue Monday cheese exclusively in Morrisons priced at £3.
Named after the musician’s favourite song, Blue Monday is made in partnership with Yorkshire-based artisan cheese producers Shepherds Purse and celebrates the best of British.
Its flavours are complex, creating a creamy soft cheese with bold cracks and streaks of blue which echo its namesake. Overall, the cheese is spicy and sweet with an underlying savouriness.
The news comes as Alex continues his massive European tour with Blur, with shows at Wembley Stadium last weekend and a new album titled ‘The Ballad of Darren’, the band’s first in eight years, out on July 21. The 100g hand-wrapped wedges will be available in over 200 Morrisons stores nationwide.
Alex said: “Blue Monday is a world-beating British cheese, made with love by the wonderful team at Shepherds Purse. It pairs brilliantly with sparkling wine, beer or cider.”
