DRUMMERS, fire performers, and acrobats helped launch a new women’s health and wellbeing studio.
Club Ekta, a women-only fitness and wellness hub in Bradford, officially opened at Cedar Court Hotel on Sunday, March 8, coinciding with International Women’s Day.
The event featured a celebration of South Asian culture and community with dhol players, fire performers, and acrobatics.
Harleen Kaur, founder of Club Ekta, said: “Opening this studio on International Women’s Day, and seeing our community gather after sundown during Ramadan, felt incredibly symbolic.
“This isn’t just about fitness; it’s about belonging.
“We have created a space where women feel seen, supported, and strong – physically, mentally, and emotionally.”
Club Ekta began during lockdown as a small group of girls meeting in a park for football.
It has since grown into a movement supporting thousands of women across Bradford.
Founded in 2021 by Ms Kaur, a former international kickboxer, the club aims to break down barriers to fitness through cultural representation, confidence building, and a sense of community.
The flagship studio, developed in partnership with Cedar Court Hotel, offers a holistic, private, and empowering environment for women.
The programme includes a wide range of fitness sessions, wellbeing workshops, outdoor activities, and events.
Activities include everything from bhangra classes, hiking, and horse riding to menopause workshops, sound baths, and reflexology.
The new facility features a specialist Reformer Pilates studio, a modern movement space designed for strength and confidence, and a culturally sensitive environment tailored to Bradford’s diverse female population.

The launch event was part of a wider celebration for International Women’s Month.
Throughout March, Club Ekta is inviting women across the district to join their growing programme and experience this exciting new era for women-only wellness in Bradford.
