The Yorkshire Water Community Trust is looking for a new trustee to join its board.
The trust is an independent charity, set up by the water company in 1995. It offers support and debt relief to Yorkshire Water customers and has supported over 35,000 people to break long term cycles of debt.
The charity is looking for someone with experience of vulnerable or marginalised communities, with a link to affordability, to play a key role in the trust’s management. They will support the trust with eight days of their time per year, in which they will assist in evaluating applications, reviewing decisions made by trust officers and overseeing operations at quarterly meetings.
Claire Gott, manager of The Yorkshire Water Community Trust, said: “Being a trustee on our board is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to make a real difference. With the long-lasting impacts of the pandemic and the cost of living rising, we are seeing a huge increase in the number of people that need our support.”
