Half of new retirement home development already sold off plan

HALF of the new homes being built as an extension of a popular retirement living development in Shipley have already sold off plan.

The multi-million-pound investment in Fairmount Park in Nab Wood by the family-owned and run Czajka Care Group will see eight new purpose-built, assisted living retirement houses and apartments being delivered.

The homes are expected to be ready to move into by April 2024.

Managing director of Czajka Care Group, Konrad Czajka, said: “Our retirement properties have long waiting lists, with some people reserving a home years in advance of their planned move date.

“These beautiful new houses and apartments will help us meet the huge demand for retirement properties for people aged over 55 in the area.

“We currently have just 37 houses and apartments at Fairmount Park, so we are delighted to be building these new houses and apartments, which start from £220,000.”

As part of the development, Brookfield Care Home is currently being extended in order to merge with Fairmount Nursing Home, which has already been demolished to make way for the new houses and apartments at Fairmount Park.

The group was granted planning permission for the development in 2021 and has liaised with the residents and families at Fairmount Park and the neighbouring Fairmount Nursing Home to plan for the expansion.

The firm said that buyers have been attracted to the setting of the Fairmount Park development, located in a sought-after residential area, close to all the amenities of Saltaire.

Mr Czajka added: “Buyers have not only loved our location, but the style of the homes, the attention to detail in every aspect of the design, and the support and on-site medical and community services available at Fairmount Park.

“The fact that buyers can benefit from becoming members of The Clubhouse at Fairmount Park has also been another huge pull.”

The Clubhouse at Fairmount Park is home to a bar, restaurant, private function suite, snooker room, swimming pool and gym, and is the focal point of the development, which sits within four acres of private gardens.

Other amenities include crown green bowling and putting greens and there is a varied and inclusive programme of activities and events.

He added: “Fairmount Park is made up of a vibrant community of people, all keen to live their lives in their own private home, but with support on hand if and when they need it.”

Only three houses and one first floor apartment at popular Fairmount Park remain for sale.
