AN opticians in Bradford has welcomed a new addition to its optical team after a successful traineeship.
Amaan Aqeel, 22, has joined Specsavers Girlington after the young optical assistant successfully completed his apprenticeship course.
Amaan said: “At the beginning of my apprenticeship, I had limited knowledge of optics.
“However, I have continuously expanded my understanding and developed both my technical and customer service skills throughout the program.
“I am grateful for the support of my colleagues, who were always willing to assist me.
“Their guidance enabled me to effectively apply my learning to practice, enhancing my efficiency and proficiency in various tasks.
“Overall, this apprenticeship has been an excellent pathway to launch my career, providing me with continuous training while earning a wage.’
Specsavers’ apprenticeship scheme is open to anyone from the age of 16, including recent school and college leavers or those seeking a new challenge.
The programme offers roles across retail stores, support offices, and manufacturing and distribution sites, with apprenticeships available up to master’s degree level.
Fozia Amir, ophthalmic director at Specsavers Girlington, added: “We are incredibly proud of Amaan and all he has learnt over the past year and a half – he already feels like part of the family.”
