Tesco staff and shoppers in Bradford have raised money for Yorkshire Air Ambulance (YAA)
The funds were donated after a series of fundraisers, including tombola, staff raffle, bucket collections, and the sale of YAA merchandise.
Colleagues at Tesco Great Horton in Bradford raised £4,000 for the charity.
In total, 27 Tesco stores across Yorkshire and the North West managed to raise £34,500 for both YAA and Lancashire Air Ambulance, with £16,500 going to YAA.
Stef Maynard, West Yorkshire community fundraiser at YAA, said: “We are incredibly grateful to Tesco stores and their generous customers across Yorkshire for raising an amazing £16,500 in support of Yorkshire Air Ambulance.
“Every pound helps us keep our helicopters flying and saving lives across the region, and this fantastic fundraising effort will make a real difference to patients in need.”
Kamran Asif, checkout manager at Tesco Great Horton, said: “We wanted to raise money for a great local cause, which would make a huge impact on the community and help those finding themselves in difficulty in remote areas of Yorkshire.
“Yorkshire Air Ambulance is a vital service for people in emergency situations that have no other option but being airlifted to hospital.”
YAA provides emergency services to five million people across Yorkshire.
