GUISELEY photographer Hamish Irvine has won through to the 2026 Wedding Industry Awards national finals.
Hamish, 29, named best Yorkshire and North East Wedding Photographer of the Year, qualified for the UK finals in Liverpool next January.
His Leeds-based business, Hamish Irvine Wedding Photographer, beat off competition from 22 fellow wedding photographer regional finalists to the prestigious prize.
Hamish, a former Bradford Grammar School pupil and photography first class honours graduate from Leeds Arts University, focuses on the colour, fun and emotional connections of his couples. He shot his first wedding at 16.
“This award means everything,” Hamish said. “There were so many great photographers in the category and I’m just delighted I won.
“I’m so grateful to the wedding couples who nominated me. The connection with my couples is what I love most, and reflecting that connection in their photographs.
“Every wedding is different. The most magical thing about my job is about getting to know a couple, adapting your style for them and telling their story through your eye.
“Getting to know people is the biggest part for me, the different ways people express love, different cultures, people from different backgrounds, introverts, extroverts. Taking the time to know people to their core is what helps create the best wedding photographs.”
Damian Bailey, founder of The Wedding Industry Awards, said: “These are the most rigorous, respected and coveted awards in the wedding industry and regional winners like Hamish are at the top of their game.”
National winners will be announced at a ceremony in Liverpool on January 21 2026.
