Bradford Post Office in ‘busy shop’ to offer extra 32 hours of service

A BRADFORD Post Office which now offers an extra 32 hours of service has officially reopened.

New postmaster Javaid Kashif cut the ribbon to mark the return of the Princeville location which closed in January 2023.

It sits inside Al Halal Family Food Store on Legrams Lane.

Tajinder Khehra, Post Office Area Change Manager, said: “This community sorely missed Princeville Post Office when it closed as it offers so many vital services including everyday banking and sending and collecting parcels.

“The branch is open daily with much longer hours than before. It also has additional Post Office services than before.”

The business is providing 72 hours of Post Office service a week. Opening hours consist of 9am-8pm Monday to Saturday and 12pm to 6pm Sunday’s.

This is an extra 32 hours of service than before, including daily opening, plus earlier opening and later closing, all for the convenience of its customers.

The same range of services are available as before, along with Post Office Travel Money Card.

Mr Kashif said: “We took on the supermarket in April last year, then successfully applied to re-open the Post Office in our busy shop.

“The community is really happy. They really needed Princeville Post Office. There had been a branch here for more than two decades.

“We’re right in the heart of the city, close to the University and we are in a good location with lots of people passing by. There’s good public transport and we have a free car park with 81 spaces, so there’s no shortage of parking, which makes it easier for people to pop in.

“We often hear from customers that they have tried several Post Offices, which had nowhere to park, before they travelled on to us.

“It’s really important when people have lots of parcels or a bulky item that they want to park nearby.

“People also live busy lives, and they need somewhere for parcels to be safely delivered to, for later collection. People are relieved that they can do their banking here again.”
