Coffee shop with ‘warm and welcoming atmosphere’ is vying for another award

A BRADFORD coffee shop which boasts a “warm and welcoming atmosphere” is in the running for an award.

The Telegraph & Argus recently launched its Best Coffee Shop 2025 competition.

Readers were asked to share their favourite venues – and the nominations were whittled down to 10.

We are now in the process of profiling the finalists who answer our questions.

Today we are highlighting The Lodge Cafe, situated in Bowling Park, which opened in 2018.

Jamie Wallace and Andy Meakin, both directors and managers at The Lodge, said: “Having recently won Cafe of the Year at the 2025 Telegraph & Argus Retail, Leisure and Hospitality Awards, we are absolutely thrilled to have been nominated to win the Best Coffee Shop title in this competition.

“We couldn’t do it without our amazing team who make the cafe the success it is today.

“We would also like to say a big thank you to our loyal customers for voting and their continued support – it means everything to us.”

Jamie and Andy described The Lodge as a “great environment” for staff and customers, with its “vibrant atmosphere, stylish decor and ample lighting”.

“We take great pride in delivering exceptional customer service and building strong, lasting relationships with our customers,” they added.

“It is these connections that make our cafe truly special – and a place we look forward to coming to every day.”

As well as the cafe, the venue includes a community room and cabin which can be hired for functions, events, groups and meetings.

It is currently being hired to hold music lessons every Saturday – and in the run-up to Christmas, it will feature a range of events such as wreath making workshops, carol singing from the local church, and a Christmas pop-up market to help support other small businesses.

“We play a meaningful role in supporting and enriching the local community by creating events to bring local people together,” Jamie and Andy said.

Asked what makes The Lodge Cafe extra special, they replied: “We believe The Lodge stands out from the crowd, especially due to our sense of community within the cafe.

“Our customers praise us for being great value for money. We believe our warm and welcoming atmosphere is what encourages customers to return time and time again.”

Don’t miss out on your chance to vote for the coffee shop you think should win as part of our competition.

All you need to do is fill out the voting form, which can be found in the T&A newspaper until December 6.
