A Bradford-based telecommunications company is targeting growth following a landmark year as the official UK City of Culture telecoms provider.
ITC served as the official provider for Bradford 2025, the UK City of Culture, delivering mobile, internet, and landline services to the 130-strong City of Culture team.
Founded in 2006 by managing director Nasar Hussain, the company will mark its 20th anniversary in 2026.
Mr Hussain said: “I’m a proud Bradfordian, born and raised in the city. I have absolutely seen and felt the positive impact of this UK City of Culture year. Not only has it brought more people to the district, but it has also made Bradford part of the national conversation.
“We operate nationwide and clients across the country have been excited and interested by the fact we’re based in Bradford, having seen or read lots of positive things about the city this year.”
Mr Hussain started ITC at the age of 24 after spotting a gap in the market for a telecoms provider focused on serving local businesses.
Mr Hussain said: “Bradford has long been underestimated, but I feel perceptions have changed for the better and the local business community needs to continue to work together to build on this momentum.
“I’m excited by so much that is coming out of the city, for example, the University of Bradford is leading the way in research on AI and Cyber Security – which I see as major growth opportunities for my business.”
ITC delivers telecoms infrastructure for clients across the UK, with a strong focus on West Yorkshire.
This year, the company also supported Bradford 2025 as a corporate supporter.
Mr Hussain said a personal highlight was being invited to meet King Charles during his May visit to Bradford, alongside other business leaders.
He said: “Stood there alongside representatives from local giants including Morrisons and Schofield Sweeney – I felt proud to be part of this incredible business network which includes many national brands founded here, which have experienced incredible growth and have chosen to remain in the city.”
Dan Bates, executive director for Bradford 2025, said: “ITC, with Nasar at the helm, is such a fantastic example of a home-grown business which embodies the entrepreneurial, forward-thinking spirit of the city.
“It’s great to hear that the corporate community – which have been instrumental to the success of this year by showing their support through funds, time and resources, have felt the positive impact.”
