Two community projects have received funding through a funeral director’s community grant scheme.
Age UK Bradford District and the Inner-City People’s Project were selected as the latest beneficiaries of Edwin Pounds & Sons Funeral Directors’ Community Assistance Programme, which supports organisations within three miles of its Cavendish Street location in Keighley.
Age UK Bradford District was awarded £1,000 to establish and run a reminiscence group for older people, while the Inner-City People’s Project received £400 to launch a gentle seated exercise class.
Rachel Abbey, funeral director at Edwin Pounds & Sons, said: “We are delighted to be able to offer support to these much-needed projects in the Keighley area.
“Both organisations are dedicated to making a difference to people’s lives and providing meaningful support to people as and when they need it most.
“We’re proud to help them continue their positive work.”
Cheques were presented by members of the programme’s judging panel, including councillor Mohammed Muazzam of the Riddlesden and Stockbridge wards and Kevin O’Hare, principal of Keighley College.
