Bradford firm wins award from retail entrepreneur Paphitis

A Bradford based firm has received a major business boost from retail entrepreneur and former Dragons’ Den star Theo Paphitis.

The Positive Business Club, based in Bradford and founded by Sarah McCann, was named one of six weekly winners of Paphitis’ Small Business Sunday (#SBS) campaign after sharing her business story with him on Instagram.

Each week, Paphitis selects six small businesses to receive a repost and support through the #SBS programme, which includes access to a dedicated website, national exposure, and entry to the annual networking conference.

Sarah McCann, founder of The Positive Business Club, said: “Winning the #SBS award from Theo Paphitis is an incredible honour.

“As a stationery and online learning brand dedicated to supporting business owners, this recognition means so much.

“Attending the annual conference and receiving the award in person was a proud moment for my business.”

The Positive Business Club creates empowering stationery and offers an online learning membership, designed to help entrepreneurs stay organised, focused, and motivated as they grow their ventures.

The business was personally chosen by Paphitis, who launched the #SBS initiative in 2010 to celebrate and promote small businesses across the UK.

Theo Paphitis, chairman of Ryman Stationery, Robert Dyas and Boux Avenue, said: “We are thrilled to welcome new #SBS members every week and highlight just how important it is to support our small businesses here in the UK.

“My vision is that everyone who has ever won an #SBS re-tweet from me becomes part of a friendly club; like-minded individuals who can share successes and learnings.

“The website will also give a valuable profile to the winners chosen and I wish The Positive Business Club every success.”

As part of the award, winners are invited to the annual #SBS conference to collect their certificate in person.

The Positive Business Club attended the event last Friday.
