CASH Access UK, the organisation set up to protect access to cash across the UK, has opened a temporary home for the banking hub in Horsforth, located in Horsforth Community Hub in Town Street.
Customers of all major banks can visit any weekday between 9am-5pm to carry out regular cash transactions including cash withdrawals and deposits as well as checking balances or paying bills. Additionally, the hub offers a community banker service where customers can talk to their own bank in a private space about more complicated issues on the day their bank is in the hub:
- Monday: Lloyds
- Tuesday: Halifax
- Wednesday: NatWest
- Thursday: HSBC (coming soon)
- Friday: Santander
While the hub in Horsforth is up and running today, Cash Access UK can confirm it is currently working to secure a long-term home for the banking hub which will offer the same services. Local residents can check for updates on the Cash Access UK website.
Horsforth banking hub was recommended following the closure of the town’s final bank branch. This is the second hub to open in Leeds, with a hub already operating in Armley. There is also a hub open in nearby Yeadon in Yeadon Town Hall on High Street and in Otley on Kirkgate.
Gareth Oakley, CEO at Cash Access UK: “I’m pleased to announce that the new banking hub in Horsforth is now open, giving local residents access to cash and in-person banking services. The hub is available for everyday banking transactions every day of the week, and for more specific or complex enquiries, a community banker will be on-site to assist on designated days.”
Councillor Asghar Khan, Leeds City Council’s executive member for communities, customer service and community safety, said: “We know that many of our residents prefer to do their banking in person, sometimes because they do not have access to the internet or because they simply prefer to use cash.
