PLANS to turn a storage building near the University of Bradford into a restaurant have been submitted to Bradford Council.

The application, by Raff Butt of Bison Burger, would see the use of the ground floor of 8 Longside Lane changed from storage and distribution into restaurant and takeaway.

The new business would include a large dining area, bar and reception area and parking for 20 cars.

The building is near the junction of Listerhills Road and Thornton Road, and is also a short distance from The Green – a large complex of student accommodation at the University of Bradford. There are a number of long empty buildings and vacant plots of land near the site.

A decision on the application is expected next month.
